They are the behind-the-scenes people who make the stage productions happen.
Standing Stage Crew (SSC)members sign on for a year, and then learn how to manage stage lighting, sound and other production elements.
Directed by professional lighting designer and SSA alumnae Jordan Kardasz, crew members not only work on SSA concerts, plays and assemblies, but they also have the opportunity to work with professional productions which rent the SSA Auditorium facilities. They not only gain valuable real world experience, but they can earn a small salary as well.
Lights -- sound -- action!
SSC member Sadie White (Class of '12) runs the sound board in the back of the Auditorium for the Readers Theatre production of the Dickens classics, Great Expectations and A Christmas Carol. The two short plays were presented by the SSA Fine Arts Dept. in November 2010.
