Scholarships
Merit Scholarships
St. Scholastica Academy offers the following merit scholarships to incoming freshmen:
The Presidential Merit Scholarship, Principal’s Merit Scholarship and the The Ray & Kathryn Hendrick Eckstein Scholarship. These scholarships are merit based and will be awarded to young women of high academic standing. In order to qualify for these merit based scholarships students must have taken the Placement Exam at St. Scholastica Academy on our first exam date, January 14, 2012. Students still can qualify for financial aid if they take the Placement Exam at a later date, but the merit based scholarships are only available to students who tested on January 14.
Presidential Merit Scholarship This scholarship will be awarded to students based on test scores from the January Placement Exam. This scholarship recognizes outstanding student leaders who:
- Show leadership potential
- Demonstrate outstanding academic achievement
- Serve the needs of society and our world.
Recipients of the Presidential Merit scholarship will receive $2,000 applied to their freshman year tuition at SSA
Principal’s Merit Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to one student who achieves exceptional results on the January 14, 2012 placement exam. Covers full tuition for the freshman year with the possibility of continuance.
The Ray & Kathryn Henderick Eckstein Scholarship The Ray and Kathryn Henderick Eckstein Scholarship will be awarded to an International Baccalaureate student with financial need. The recipient will be awarded full tuition for all four years with continued academic excellence.
Values Based Scholarships
In the Benedictine tradition, St. Scholastica Academy awards five Women for Tomorrow scholarships. These scholarships offer an opportunity of a Benedictine education to young women that have started to develop the Benedictine values found in the five tenets taught and lived at St. Scholastica Academy.
Amount: $2000 per scholarship. Only one Women for Tomorrow scholarship awarded per student.
Duration: Freshman year - non-renewable. Need-based financial aid will be available for those who qualify for the following years.
Requirements: • Completed Application • Two letters of recommendation from adults • Catholic school placement test completed at St. Scholastica

Cooperating High School Scholarship Organizations
St. Scholastica Academy cooperates with various high school scholarship organizations in the Chicago area. Application deadlines and requirements for these organizations vary. Please contact them directly for this information.
