Volunteer Opportunities 2011-2012
St. Scholastica Academy truly values the importance of community. We believe that all of us administration, faculty, staff, students and parents bring unique gifts and talents to SSA to make it the wonderful school that it is. We hope that you will continue to support this community with your priceless gift of volunteering.
Below is a list of events/tasks at which we would appreciate your assistance. Please contact Jennifer Fernandes if you are available to help at 773.764.5715 ext 363 or jfernandes@scholastica.us.
Recruitment Events
• High School Fairs at elementary schools (ongoing September through November)
• Open House - held in November, December and March
• Incoming Freshman Placement Test - offered on two Saturday dates in January
• Phone-a-thons to prospective families (TBD)
School Events
• Annual Alumnae Benefit (October) - soliciting appropriate donations of food, beverages, silent and/or live auction items, raffle prizes or professional services from local businesses
• Springfest (April) - bartending, ticket sales, food set-up, assisting with silent auction, etc.
• Soliciting parent volunteers during academic year to support Springfest, Faculty/Staff luncheon and other events
• Focus Group discussion concerning parental experiences of recruitment conducted by members of the Advancement Department (TBD)
• Faculty/Staff luncheon (end of school year in June)
