Movie Club
2010-2011 was the first year for Movie Club. Like many SSA clubs, it was created at a student's request.
The club meets in the Student Lounge on a regular basis to view and discuss movies. Club members make suggestions and select the movies they view.
The club moderator is film buff Ms. Vakarie Christian. |

The 2010-2011 Movie Club presentations were . . .
Up - This prize-winning Pixar animated film was selected for its technical coolness and emotional wallop
Avatar - Was there anybody who didn't see this flick in the theater? But club members wanted to see it again, choosing it for its technical coolness (not to mention the hotness of the male lead)
It's a Wonderful Life - This classic James Stewart movie is part of the "cocoa and cookies thing in December"
Ghosts of Mississippi was scheduled for a viewing in Black History Month, but the February Blizzard forced its cancellation
Mulan - The club celebrated Asian Heritage Month in May with a showing of Disney's animated version of the old Chinese legend
