Counseling Department Activities for Winter/Spring of ‘11
Junior Parent College Night
On Thursday, March 24, at 7:00 p.m., junior parents and students are invited to attend a presentation and discussion about the college application process. Please contact Ms. Annie McNellis, College Counselor, for more information about this event.
ACT Review Course
Saint Scholastica Academy is hosting an ACT Review Course which will be provided by the One-To-One Learning Center. The course is open to all juniors and it will run from Saturday, January 29th until April 2nd from 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. It begins with a diagnostic ACT which is scored and analyzed to determine the student’s strengths and weaknesses. Students take both math and verbal classes and conclude the course with a diagnostic review. The course also includes a workshop to help prepare students for the writing portion of the ACT. Class registration is available online at www.one-to-onelc.org or with the mail-in form available in Room 100. Students must register by January 27, 2011.

Optional “Exploring College” Groups for Seniors
Ms. McNellis will also continue to meet with senior students during mods “rs” on Day 4s to discuss various topics related to the college application and admission process. Guest speakers will include college admissions representatives and Saint Scholastica Academy alumnae.

Important Deadlines
Juniors are encouraged to set-up individual meetings with Ms. McNellis beginning in February.
The April ACT registration deadline for juniors is March 4, 2011.
Student Support Groups
Student support groups began the last day of January and will end the week of May 2. Participation in a support group is open to all Scholasticans. Groups offer a time for students to talk confidentially with their peers about academic, social, familial or personal issues. Ms. Holzhauer, the school social worker, facilitates all student support groups.
